As I don´t know, if I can be here at 8pm, I just tipe my question now and hope, it still counts ;) Hey, Victroria, I really enjoyed reading "Red Queen" and am excited for more... how many books will be in the series? And my actual question: What is the best about writing? Why do you write or what makes it special? Thanks! Mary <3

Hi! Since I unfortunately can not be here tonight, I ask my questions now :) How did you start writing? And who is your favorite character in Red Queen? I hope you answer my questions! Best wishes from Germany :)

Are you running when writing often distracted?

@BIGGI12 - My absolute favorite book is THE LORD OF THE RINGS by JRR Tolkien. Followed closely by HARRY POTTER by JK Rowling and the A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE series by George RR Martin!

Hello Victoria, who inspired you to write you "The Red Queen"? Is there any friend who could be like Mare?
Victoria Aveyard
17.07.2015
@Marysol15 - Thank you! Right now I'm contracted for three Red Queen books but we'll see what the story requires. And the best thing about writing - wow. I get to tell stories for a living. It's what I've always wanted to do, so living a dream is pretty nice.

Hey Victoria, thanks you will answer our questions. I startet reading "Red Queen", in a bookstore and these five minutes were so nice. So my question is: What has moved you to write the red queen?

Awwww! Hello! It’s so awesome to chat with you and thank you bittersweet, that we can ask our questions! =) I really want to read your book, it sounds just so great and I am so curious about it! =) How did „Red Queen“ came up into your mind? What were your first thoughts about this book/idea?

@sternchen18 - I've been telling stories for my entire life - either writing them down or playing them out with toys. My parents are teachers and they encourage me a lot. And my favorite character in Red Queen is probably Maven. He's so complex! Hi from the USA!

Would be a red one or someone from the silver elite? If silver, which power would you like to have?
Victoria Aveyard

@Romina Agus - I do get distracted a lot nowadays, especially since Red Queen is out. I love interacting with readers but have to limit myself so I can get actual work done!

Hi, I just finished your book today and it was amazing! And now I want to ask : How did you come to the idea of THAT plot twist? It was mind-blowing and I didn't see that coming at all! Thank you for your answer :)

@piifkaa - I had the image of a teenage girl about to be executed, who kills her executioner with her lightning super powers, and I ran with the idea. The rest of the story came out of wanting to make this visual real. And I pulled pieces of Mare from lots of people, but Farley is directly based on one of my best friends.

Hi Ms Aveyard, thank you for being here tonight, at least in Germany it's late evening :) My first question: What person (dead or alive) would you like to spend a day with if you could, and why? Kind regards, Stephie

At that time, if, once again, you think back of the beginning of your career, you have already this thought you will so far come some time?

@sharkygirl - I had the image of a teenage girl about to be executed, who kills her executioner with her lightning super powers, and I ran with the idea. The rest of the story came out of wanting to make this visual real. Once I knew I wanted the lightning girl, I built the rest to make her possible.

Do you like the cover of the german edition from the red queen? I think it is so wonderful!!!
Victoria Aveyard
17.07.2015
@MoonlightBN - I first got the idea to write a novel at the end of college, after I'd written several screenplays. I figured I could maybe FINALLY finish a book. I had the image of a teenage girl about to be executed, who kills her executioner with her lightning super powers, and I ran with the idea. The rest of the story came out of wanting to make this visual real.

Had inspired them to write another author?
Victoria Aveyard
17.07.2015
@piifkaa - I would obviously want to be a Silver, but realistically, I'd probably be Red. But if I was Silver, I'd want to be a whisper, and be able to use mind control. Although I'd love to have time travel over anything.

If you could spend a day as a character of any book or movie, which one would it be?

17.07.2015
Thank you so much :). But this is not so, "Red Queen" moves in my opinion in the mainstream and with the cover and what you already know about it makes it a very curious. Coming more in your head for another possible course of history?

Do you form your characters completely out of your imagination or do you think of real people (e.g. friends or actors) when you create them?
MoonlightBN
17.07.2015
Haha, I love the view of your first idea. It seems to be so "pictured in your head". I don't know how to say that, sometimes I write my own language *haha* As you had those pictures in your head and as your book will be a movie (sooo great, can't wait for it!), do you have any wishes or dreams about the cast yet? =D

Hello Victoria, I really love the whole storyline of red queen und especially the charakters. They are really authentic and sympathic. So my quenstion is: If you could be one of your charakters for a day, who would it be, what would you do and why? xx Leonie

@HerzundSeeleleserin - Heehee. I knew from the very beginning of the story that THE TWIST was coming. It was my favorite part to write. I know the idea was definitely inspired by GAME OF THRONES and the way George RR Martin twists his characters and audience. This was my weak attempt at doing the same.

Is there a character in your books you like the most or one you feel a special connection to? If yes, who and why? And is there a character you don’t like?

@sarah.runge.007 - A lot of the names honestly just popped into my head. They sounded right, they fit, so I used them. A few (the last name Calore) came from their meaning. Like Calor means heat in Latin, so obviously I made that Cal and Maven's last name. Thank you!!

@sharkygirl - I have seen the German cover. I love it!! And of course, I love the American cover as well. They are both fantastic.

Hahaha "I knew from the very beginning of the story that THE TWIST was coming. It was my favorite part to write. " Another question of mine was the question of your favorite part in your book - great answer. I am a bit scared about the Twist right now, but as a fan of GoT I think it will be great.. and mean *haha*

Victoria Aveyard
17.07.2015
@Stephie2309 - Oh, great question. I suppose I would want to talk to Elizabeth I, Cleopatra, or Queen Victoria. Even just to be in their presence would be astounding. I probably wouldn't know what to say. I'd also love to meet JK Rowling and Tolkien as well.
